December already???

Where does the time go?

Here we are in December and Christmas is right around the corner!
Our latest project was a small annex to our horses' run-in. Marc amazingly finished this project in just under a week, and that was along with working regular hours at his job and taking care of all the usual necessities around the farm. I was the support team, assisting with important tasks like finding the raccoon in an old abandoned building on our property.
Actually, I was trying to reclaim some lumber for use in the addition but, how can a person not get distracted by something as cute as this?
At any rate, we now have a nice area where we can store some of the horse equipment a little closer to where it is needed. The next project for this area is to add a hay feeder.
In the mean time, we are slowly getting ready for winter and all the wonderful and not-so-wonderful stuff that comes along with it. Holiday preparations are on track and, dare I say, even a bit ahead of where we usually are.
We have been getting a tremendous amount of customer interest in some of the goats recently. Most of the calls are for meat goats and it seems as though there is more demand than we have supply at the moment - a good thing for sure! Hopefully this coming year will bring us an even larger kid crop so we have more animals for customers to choose from.

Hello and welcome!

We are so excited to start our farm journal in conjunction with our new website - http://www.lpfarm.net - which was put together by our extremely talented nephew, Alex. Way to go, A!
Things are pretty hectic right now at LPF as we run the autumn-into-winter gauntlet - running new fence, mending the old fence, storing hay, tweaking the tractor - and all in the midst of breeding season!
Hopefully over the next few weeks, we can add to this journal a bit and introduce everyone that plays a part here. We hope you enjoy getting to know us and we hope you become a regular visitor, whether it be on-line or in person.
